ARRA, HITECH, and the ONC

ARRA is the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus Bill of 2008). The HITECH Act is a provision of ARRA.

HITECH authorizes CMS to issue annual payments to eligible providers who demonstrate Meaningful Use of a certified EMR. HITECH also authorizes funds for the Office of the National Coordinator, which creates standards for technology and designates Meaningful Use criteria (to certify EMR vendors). The AeHC maintains excellent communication with our clients, and provides our clients with ongoing updates issued by the ONC.
